Reviews & Publicity
THE SECRET GARDEN (HALE CENTER THEATER, OREM):
Korianne was mentioned on Broadwayworld.com as a “local favorite in Musical Theatre Productions” in The Secret Garden at Hale Theater Orem as [Lily].
MIKADO (BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY):
Jubal Joslyn and Korianne Orton Johnson make a lovely Nanki-Poo and Yum-Yum, respectively. They have a nice chemistry together and both have excellent voices for the roles.
Korianne Orton Johnson as Yum-Yum, Nanki-Poo’s love interest, was charming. She brought a nice blend of innocence and martial arts toughness to her role. –Edward Reichel Music Critc for Deseret News.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (Provo Theatre Company, provo):
And then there’s Audrey, lovely Audrey. Korianne Johnson is the best Audrey I’ve ever seen, better even than Ellen Greene, who originated the role off-Broadway and played her in the film version. Where Greene often used the affected “I’m in a musical” style of acting, Johnson is purely natural. Her Audrey speaks in a high-pitched Brooklyn accent, but comes off innocent and sweet rather than whiny or squawking. The tendency is to play her as a ditzy blonde, but Johnson imbues the character with warmth and humanity, providing the very soul of the show. Her signature number, “Somewhere That’s Green,” is gently funny, mildly parodic and heart-meltingly sincere. –Eric Snider Deseret News
MY FAIR LADY(Brigham Young University):
Johnson doesn’t miss a note as [Eliza] ; [her] difficult dialects are right on. –Rodger L. Hardy, Deseret News
